So something went wrong with the old site. I have decided to scrub the Droplet clean and restart completely anew. This time I decided to go with Ubuntu instead of FreeBSD just because of more readily available support (aka, Google gives more results).
WordPress is up. Yay. Had some help from Yong Jie with the configurations and all.
Next: Set up DNS properly. Make a (Completely white) Home page (which is not the wordpress, because that one is meant to be a sub-directory)
